I've been a bit of a bum about writing lately.
Partly because I was spending my computer time doing work for actual money. Partly because I've been busy living, traveling, experiencing. Partly because I hit a wall with my Matador writing course. (The assignment, which you have to complete in order, is to go sit someplace, eavesdrop, and think about dialects and colloquialisms. Kinda hard since I don't speak Turkish.) But probably mostly because writing is a good habit and not writing is a bad habit, and it's always easier to continue bad habits than good.
Anyways, today I set a goal to post a few experiences on Afar; one of my favorite travel websites. I got two posted, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. (At least with the writing. It's too sunny at the cafe I'm at to see the photos well, so I may re-edit them.)
Check it out if you're interested:
House-roasted Turkish Coffee in the Fish Market
Wine, dine, and unwind in Sirince
And a couple old ones:
Vegetarian köfte? It does exist!
Mourn the departed with free donuts
